Hidden Camera
May 14, 1956 - August 27, 1956

A new show entitled "The Hidden Camera" will make its debut on KPTV Monday, May 14, at 10:15pm.  The show, of local origin, features conversations with people in public places, with the person drawn into the conversation not knowing that he is on camera until afterward.

Setting of "The Hidden Camera" can be most any place around town, but for the most part the conversations take place in stores with customers or sales people.  Funny situations are created through the conversations struck up by Bill Luckey, producer and emcee of the show.  He is assisted from time to time by Pat Vidan.

The camera is concealed in a place of business so that it is never in view of the unsuspecting person urged into a conversation by the two performers.  Typical situation arises when Luckey, acting as store clerk, demands that a total stranger in the store for first time pay up big delinquent account.  Taken by complete surprise, the victim really puts up a protest and quiet a conversation results before he realizes that it is a trick.

Theme of the show is built around and successfully proves that people are good sports when they learn that the joke's on them.  So far, "The Hidden Camera" crew of four have had only one person refuse to sign a release so that her part of the show would appear on TV.  This was a woman who happened to be wearing curlers when she was caught by the hidden camera.

These spontaneous conversations on KPTV's "Hidden Camera" promise hilarious entertainment for Monday evening viewers.
